Our workflow is normally a combination of signal chains using both the digital (software) and analog outboard gear. We favour and often use various plugins from Fab Filter, Universal Audio, Softube, Plugin Alliance, Izotope, Slate i.e.

Hardware is the most common when tracking and recording while the world of plugins and software is of great use in the mixing process, in combination with inserting analogue outboard on single tracks, stems, busses and the master bus.

Wes Audio

The Ultimate 500 Series Mix Buss

The Wes Audio Mix Buss is the ultimate mix buss for the hybrid studio.

All of the Wes Audio products within this package are equipped with the “NG500” control protocol meaning each unit can be remote controlled, automated or recalled from your DAW!

When housed within the Wes Audio Titan 500 series Chassis, these units can all be controlled by a single USB connection on the rear and audio from each of the 500 series units can be routed to and from the Wes Audio _Caplyso AD/DA converter.

Warm Audio Bus-Comp

The BUS-COMP will perform well on stereo mixes, drum mixes, drum overheads, acoustic guitars, keyboards, piano, orchestral instruments, voice-overs and an array of other sources.  The BUS-COMP is primarily designed for stereo use, but it can be used just as successfully on individual mono sources. VCA bus compressors of this type have become widely loved for their ability to control dynamics effortlessly but also for the added tone and depth they provide to the audio signal that passes through them, even when no compression is applied.

The Warm Audio BUS-COMP is an all-analog, 2 channel, stereo VCA bus compressor based on classic circuitry that has provided silky smooth tone for decades.  Stereo VCA bus compressors are masterful at controlling dynamics on many sources, but they have become widely known for their magic touch on stereo mixes.  

Vari Tube Compressor VTC

Vari Tube Compressor VTC

The VTC suits either the mix-bus, solo instruments and sub-groups.

The tube compressor is built after the Vari-Mu principle, like it was used in the Fairchild 670 compressor, has a particularly distinct sound which sounds very musical and already adds the finishing touch to a lot of mixes.

The signal passes through a total of 3 transformers and 4 triode tubes per channel in the VTC.

The VTC can make the difference between “mixed quite well” and “sounds perfect”.
